Tour A: Enjoy Temples in Kyoto

Place to Visit (1): Kiyomizu Dera
Access: 10 minute walk from the Kyoto city Bus Gojo-zaka or Kiyomizu-michi bus stop

Kiyomizudera is the most popular temple in Kyoto. Every year, about five million visitors come here and enjoy magical illumination. On the temple ground, there are 30 buildings that are an expansive 130,000 meters squared. You can enjoy the “Kiyomizu stage” called “Kiyomizu no butai” on the main floor. This stage stands about 12 meters tall and it was built without a single nail!
Around Kiyomizu dera, you can also enjoy a red colored gate called Nio-mon which is 14 meters tall and 10 meters wide with two big guardians who protect the temple. The waterfall called “Otawa no taki” splits into three streams and it symbolizes LOVE, LONGEVITY and ACADMICS. Let’s dink them for your wishes!

“KIN” means gold in Japanese. A gold world heritage site, Kinkakuji is one of the famous temples in Japan. This temple was built in 1397 and a lot of people has visited here to see the beautiful three halls covered in approximately 20 kg of gold foil. Unfortunately, this temple was destroyed be arson in 1950 but 5 years later, it was rebuilt and has been opened to the public.

 

Tour B: Enjoy Nature in Kyoto

Place to Visit (1) :Arashiyama Chikurin no michi
Access: 5 minute walk from Arashiyama station on the Keifuku line

Arashiyama is a Bamboo forest resort villas for aristocrats which was built about 1000 years ago. You can see the scenic beauty: Togetsukyo bridge and chikurin no michi (Bamboo forest path) and also can visit a temple and gardens around there. For example, You can visit Tenrty ji temple beside Chikurin no michi and Nonomiya jinja shrine by 10 minute walk. You can encounter breathtaking valleys, forests and other beautiful nature scenery with the sightseeing train called Sagano romantic train. It takes approximately 25 minutes to travel the 7.3 km between departure and arrival torokko stations.

Place to Visit (2) :Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama
Access: 10 minute walk from Arashiyama station.

There are about 120 Japanese macaques in this park. It takes about minutes to go to the park to the top from the reception and during a walk, you can enjoy climbing the few hundred steps and beautiful scene of Togetsukyo bridge. At the top of the park, you can feed the monkey and take some commemorative pictures.
